We thought the hotel was very, very tired and in need of some TLC. The photos of the pool and gym, for example, must have been taken a very long time ago because they don’t look like that now. The food was OK, the room was large and clean. The hotel was adequate.

Bestimmt war das einmal ein schönes Hotel. Jetzt ist es nur noch renovierungsbedürftig und vernachlässigt in jeder Hinsicht. Service auch sehr ungenügend. (Wir lagen mehr als zwei Stunden am Pool und haben für die Hotelliegen weder eine Matte bekommen noch Handtücher. Einheimische Gäste wurden damit ausgestattet und es gab zwei Mitarbeiter dort, die uns zugesehen haben. Generell nicht so freundlich wie wir es sonst erlebt haben in Sri Lanka. Essen fürchterlich, nicht richtig gekühlt oder erhitzt. Fliegen überall. Zudem roch es extrem muffig. Das Hotel war fast leer, dennoch gab es unzählige Mitarbeiter die nichts zu tun hatten. Wir hatten Ameisen im Zimmer und ein sehr kleines, altes und schlecht gereinigtes Badezimmer. Offenbar gibt es auch schöne Badezimmer, aber diese werden wohl versteckt... Schade!

Lo peor de lo peor,, las habitaciones amplias,, el baño de pena,,, pequeño con cortina en la ducha,, la puerta pegado al wc,, el buffet de la cena horroroso,, comida la justa,, el desayuno peor que la cena,, todo manoseado lleno de mosquitos sobre la fruta,, un horror..... El parque nacional está a 20m en jeep,, Preferible que busquéis alojamiento en otra ciudad cercana,, en un hotel con mejor servicio.

Sehr schönes Hotel was am Rande des Nationalparks liegt. Die Einrichtung ist im Kolonialstil. Der Pool is schön groß. Man wird bei Bezug des Zimmers darauf hingewiesen nachts das Fenster geschlossen zu halten da sonst Moskitos oder die Affen ( die auf den Bäumen herum springen ) ins Zimmer kommen.

The room we had (The Governor’s Suite) was very comfortable and quiet with everything we needed, including comfortable seating for two people, There were several coach parties staying at the hotel and the restaurant offered a buffet service. We opted for the a la carte menu and the food was very good although it took an extremely long time to arrive, so I would advise using the buffet if you are in a hurry.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hat uns sofort ein neues Zimmer gegeben, weil es in unserem ersten durchgehend gebrummt hat. Leider haben wir nachts gemerkt, dass die Wände sehr dünn sind und man alles aus den Nachbarzimmern hört, inkl. der Lüftung der Bäder bzw. die Klimaanlage. Wir haben dennoch ganz gut geschlafen, als es mal ruhig war, weil die hohe Decke die Hitze ganz gut abgehalten hat. Das Essen war in Ordnung, nicht überragend. Für eine Nacht und auf Durchreise sicher okay, aber ich würde nicht nochmal wieder kommen.
